Justice Gap joins Guardian Legal Network

We are very pleased to announce that www.thejusticegap.com is part of the Guardian Legal Network.

The Guardian Legal Network (in its words) ‘brings together the best blogs and sites that cover legal affairs and developments from around the world. The network connects sites that provide high-quality news, comment, analysis, blogs and multimedia’. You can read more here.

Justice gap editor Jon Robins writes every week for the Guardian. You can read his articles and blogs here.

We are also very pleased that Kim Evans is joining the site as commissioning editor. Kim Evans has spent 31 years at the sharp end of the criminal justice system – including 10 years as a duty solicitor representing people detained by the police and more than 15 years with the Metropolitan Police.

You can read about a day in her professional life in the Guardian below:

‘It is 3.15am in Hastings police station, Sunday morning. The CCTV camera on “the bridge”, the raised custody sergeant’s desk, is trained on cell M1. The detainee is lying on his back and pummelling the metal door with his feet. He has been doing this for more than 90 minutes, breaking off occasionally to jump to his feet and flash a Hitler salute…’

www.thejusticegap.com launched on October 6th 2011. You can read about the ideas behind the site here.
